Blackwater Environmental Group is multi-state certified as a minority, disadvantaged, women-owned, small business enterprise (MBE/DBE/WBE/SBE), specializing in environmental planning, public engagement, grants, and related services. Caryn J.G. Brookman founded Blackwater in 2009, with the purpose of providing environmental planning and related services in the transportation sector that were not just acceptable but exceptional. The business moniker pays homage to her hometown of Cambridge, Maryland, home to the magnificent Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge. Over the past decade, Caryn has built a team of innovative, knowledgeable, and experienced professionals who strive to exceed the standard.
